Stanley Kubrick

Stanley Kubrick (1928 - 1999) is one of the most significant directors in the history of film making. He created a range of masterpieces including 2001: A Space Odyssey, A Clockwork Orange and The Shining.

In the fall of 2017 Kunstforeningen GL STRAND presents Stanley Kubrick – The Exhibition, which will be an immersive presentation of Kubrick’s film making showing his photographs for LOOK Magazine, film excerpts, interviews with Kubrick and his collaborators, documentations of his film productions and work methods along with Kubrick’s own great archival material.

Stanley Kubrick – The Exhibition is created by Deutsches Filmmuseum, Frankfurt am Main, Christiane Kubrick, Jan Harlan and The Stanley Kubrick Archive at University of the Arts London, with support from Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc., Sony-Columbia Pictures Industries Inc., Metro Goldwyn Mayer Studios Inc., Universal Studios Inc., and SK Film Archives LLC.

Stanley Kubrick – The Exhibition will be the culmination of a year where Kubrick’s masterly film universe creates a basis for a festival with events across the country. The festival program invites the audience for special film screenings, concerts, educational programs, Insta-walks, debates and much more in among other places art cinemas, libraries, concert halls across the country.

KUBRICK FESTIVAL 2017 is a collaboration between Kunstforeningen GL STRAND and the event agency artFREQ. A focus on excellent film making and the influence that Kubrick’s films has had on later generations are the incentives for the festival.
